1. Established formal relationship with Cannabis Experts
The Cannabis Group Purchasing Organization (CGPO) has partnered with Cannabis Experts for participating client acquisition, product and vendor sourcing, and project management to enhance service offerings and growth.  Cannabis Experts has brought dozens of high-quality, industry-leading vendors from across the cannabis industry into CGPO.

2. Generating energy savings via ComTec

CGPO began to implement energy cost-saving measures to reduce operational costs and deliver immediate value to our member participants.

  • ComTec evaluated energy invoice data, including both electricity and gas, from a CGPO participating MSO, analyzed the data, prepared an RFP, went to market for bids, and so far, has achieved over $200,000 in savings from within in a single state.
3. Established strategic partnership with MainStem
CGPO has established a partnership with MainStem to leverage their comprehensive state-of-the-art supply chain analytics and procure to pay purchasing platform, along with thousands of high-volume repeat purchase products already loaded and available through the platform.  

The MainStem platform will form the core of the CGPO tech stack to enable well informed buying decisions, insightful analysis and reporting, and supply chain finance functions that have been optimized for labor efficiency and well as product price savings.
 

4. Initiated development of a multi-MSO captive insurance program in collaboration with Marsh & McLennon

CGPO has kicked off development of an employee benefit group captive insurance platform, which is targeting a January 1, 2027 launch date and will offer inexpensive employee health plans and a variety of risk mitigation products with the potential to compound cost savings year after year.

Conclusion

Cannabis GPO aims to help participants overcome high costs and current market challenges. CGPO is now delivering both quick savings in energy and telecommunications, as well as delivering comprehensive savings from strategic partnerships bringing long established relationships and broad offerings from industry leading vendors.
